Camden high school students rallied outside the New Jersey State Board of Education offices in Trenton to protest recent staff cuts in Camden public schools.

On Monday, May 20, over 100 students marched to the Camden City School Board building to protest the announced termination of 117 beloved educators and student support staff — including counselors, family advocates, and classroom aides.

The Camden City Education Equity Bus Tour on October 19, 2024, united community members to explore challenges in Camden’s schools. Organized by CPSU, the tour highlighted issues like enrollment disparities and co-located charter schools, fostering a call for equitable, community-driven education solutions.

Over the course of two days, a series of events were held at Insight Hospital and Dyett High School, bringing together mayors, grassroots leaders, educators, union leaders, and activists to discuss the pressing issues facing Black communities and the pathways to lasting change.

CPSU partnered with Parents Supporting Parents NY to provide 11 Graduating Seniors from the class of 2024 with HP Laptop and Printers to start them on their college journey.
